Description

This year marks five years of Femme n Bass in our fave wee city of Te Whanganui-a-tara. So, do you know what we’re doing to celebrate? We’ve organised a double feature, taking Femme n Bass further afield - one night at our home ground of Moon in Newtown, and then the next night at Porridge Watson in Whanganui!

Double the bass, double the boss babe energy, double the dancefloor, all powered by the indomitable Bigbada BOOM Soundsystem.
WHANGANUI:  As well as operating the exquisite Bigbada BOOM soundsystem, QUEEN BIG PUNCH will be spinning some wax for us, bringing the high-quality reggae and blues flavours she is known for. Up and comer RURU will bring some tasty upbeat mixes to get the d-floor going. Whanganui legend THE SHADY LADY will throw down her usual eclectic but perfectly-curated selections. Fresh off her debut at Twisted Frequency, we have MELOMANIAC bringing some delicious down-tempo dubby goodness. We’ve got PORK CRACKLE, known for bringing techno blends that absolutely send the dancefloor.

TICKETS
Tickets are available on Humanitix for $15/$20 unwaged/waged. There may be limited door sales on the night.

If money is tight and would prevent you coming, get in touch with us directly by the day before the gig at the latest, and we’ll see what we can do - we’re at femmenbass@gmail.com

KAUPAPA
Femme n Bass won’t be tolerating any of the -isms. Leave the racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body-shaming and so on elsewhere.  You create the atmosphere, just as much as we do. Bring respect for each other, by making space for each other on the dancefloor, not pressuring anyone into drinks, hugs, or other interactions, and monitoring your own intoxication levels. Consent underlies all our interactions, not just the sexy ones!

Please respect the soundsystem and DJ booth by not putting your drinks on them.
