Cacao, ancient medicine from the Amazon, brought to you by a Dance Therapist & -Anthropologist. Are you ready to embark on a shamanic healing journey, inspired by the different tribes & cultures I lived in, to connect with the elements around & within?

ABOUT THE MEDICINE
Cacao is a sacred plant from the Amazon, Peru, that made its way to Central America, where it is still used in ceremonies and rites of passage. It is a heart opening medicine, both literally (it opens the blood vessels and enhances the blood stream) as energetically.

We will drink my last block of Ceremonial Cacao from Holy Wow Cacao (Lago Atitlan, Guatemala), that I brought with my backpack from Guatemala, through Mexico, Canada, USA & NZ. The cacao seeds from small, indigenous, permaculture farms are fully hand processed (toasted, pealed, grinded) by (mainly single) indigenous women.

FACILITATOR
Lene Van Steenwinkel is a certified Dance/Movement Therapist, trained in Authentic Movement, Laban-Bartennieff, Somatic Experiencing, Breathwork, Osho Meditations, 5Elements Dance Activation™, Tantra, Celtic and Nordic Shamanism, Theatre of the Oppressed, Art of Mentoring, Social Work and Development Aid. Her transformative workshops and retreats are inspired by the dance/shamanic ceremonies and rites of passages she participated all over the world. Lene is founder of 'Embodied Dreamworkers', offering the potent combination of Dance/Movement Therapy with Dreamwork & of 'Kula Dance'. 'Kula' means tribe of the heart, friend, school, village, visit, to stick, to gather. Lene's life mission is weaving Kula (=tribe) together, organizing women circles, workshops, retreats & ceremonies all over the globe.

PRACTICAL
Location: Flowstate Holistic Centre, 62c Taupo Quay, Whanganui
Time: sat 20/01, 2-5pm (arrive at 1:45pm)
Bring: comfy clothes (no skirt/dress), water bottle, little snack to share afterwards
! Don't eat 3-4 hours before the ceremony, as you would feel less the effect of the cacao & you might feel nauseous !
