After a wee summer hiatus we are back moving this month! Come and join for 90mins of movement and stillness.

What to expect?
Embodied ecstatic dance is a type of free-form dance. There are no set moves, no right or wrong, simply a space to move, shake and be free, as such no prior experience is required. I liken it to a moving meditation, moving through a wave of energy from low to high and back down the other side, providing space to shift whatever is in the way of your flow. For some this can be a challenging space to enter- especially for the first time, however through clear guidance I intend to provide a safe space for you to be open to explore the gift of this movement medicine.
Who is facilitating this event?
Kia Ora, I’m Riana and I will be guiding you through this dance journey. I first experienced ecstatic dance several years ago and felt absolutely at home in my body and soul and instantly wanted more! In 2021 I completed my 100hour Embodied Ecstatic Dance training with the wonderful Sarsha Hope and I am passionate about spreading the joy of movement. During my dances I like to weave knowledge from all aspects of my life- in particular, the physical and mental layers of ourselves- calling on knowledge from my background as a GP, as well as the energetic and spiritual aspects- bringing experience as a reiki master and certified yoga teacher, put this together with an absolute love for music and movement and I too get lost in the dance!
