Description

Together we will walk or roll the length of Gaza - 41km mirroring the journey Gazans are being forced to take to flee bombardment. This is a pilgrimage of solidarity and hope; we journey as witnesses and in love.

We share the goals of the global Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage movement in calling and praying for the following in the Holy Land:

Enduring and Sustained Ceasefire.
Immediate flow of life saving food, water, aid, fuel and humanitarian assistance.
Release of all hostages – both the Israeli hostages held by Hamas – and the Palestinian hostages held in the Israeli prison system.
End of occupation so a just-peace can begin.

Join some or all of the route with us. We will walking along the river from Castlecliff to Upokongaro and back. Along the way we will pause at times for reflection and prayer. Our route is mostly flat and along the river bank path. Some sections will be on roadside footpaths.

This walk is one of 125 Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimages happening in cities around the world during Lent. Check out the other Aotearoa locations here

We'll also be raising funds to support the work of the Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees via Christian World Service - a practical way we can help Gazans from afar.  To donate, click here.
